Startling, Hopeful and Heart wrenching
This novel is filled with such blatant and graphic detail that some may not be ready for the authors style of story telling. Precious is a testament to the "keep fighting" ideology of life. You feel this poor childs pain as if she were a close friend; and your heart aches wanting to help her. I found myself wishing there was something...anything I could do for her. Her spirit is beautiful and her desire for more, for better had me cheering her on every step of the way. This is a review of the book, but I must add that the movie and the actors' portayals of the characters was great. The young woman, Ms. Sibide did an AMAZING job, as well as Mo'Nique. This is one of few films based on literature that didn't stray too far away from the book itself, which made me very happy.
