Mono....Yawn - Stereo is better

I consider myself one of the biggest Beatle fans out there.....I have purchased every Beatles recording in every format ever produced. In other words....I am wondering how many more times I will buy the White Album in my lifetime. I purchased the Stereo Box set a few months ago and thought it sounded great and then I read magazine reviews of the Mono set and decided that I had to have it as well. The packaging is great on the Mono set......but that is where it ended for me. The Stereo set really sounds better than the Mono set and anyone who says different is flawed because some "expert" told them the mono set is better. I wanted the mono set to be better as well and I based my decision to plop down another $240.00 on those reviews. The guys behind the Beatle machine are good at getting money from fans and they have perfected it over the past 40 years. I'm sure that if they hadn't produced both mono & stereo versions...Beatle fans would have cried for them (including me) until they were produced. I applaud the Beatle machine for keeping the magic alive after all of these years..... The mono set is not bad...it's sound is a little empty as compared to the stereo remasters. Since I have both sets....I will probably give the mono set to my brother for Chrismas since he cant afford to buy the Beatle catalog over and over again. I am giving the Mono Set 1 star because the Stereo Set sounds 100 times better.I'm sure that I will also buy the 5.1 surround or TXH versions if they ever come out with them as well...Save your hard earned money if you have to choose between one set or the other and buy the Stereo Remaster set.
