Q. Is FC2 Blog free?
A.Yes, FC2 Blog is absolutely free.
Q. Can anyone use FC2 Blog?
A.Yes, anyone can use FC2 Blog for anything personal or business related.
Q. Can I start using FC2 Blog services right away?
A.Yes, you may start using FC2 Blog right after you sign up.
Q. Can I have more than one blog?
A. Well, you can only use one e-mail address to create one blog. If you want to create more than one blog, you can use free e-mail services such as Hotmail, Yahoomail, or Gmail to register another FC2 Blog account.
Q. Does FC2 Blog work on any type of PC? What are the operating systems that you recommend for use?
A.Windows98SE, WindowsMe, Windows2000, WindowsXP, WindowsVista, MacOS9.x, MacOSX.
Browsers: Internet Explorer 6, Internet Explorer 7, Firefox, Opera, Safari.
Mobile Phone: Older models, some mobile phones, and PDA may not work (For Japanese mobile phones only).

Q. Will ads be posted on my blog?
A.Yes, ads will be posted on the blog somewhere.
*If you don't update your blog for more than a month, ads will automatically be posted above the entry section.
*Once you post a new entry, the ads will disappear. For more detail, please see our "About posting ads" section in our Terms of Use.
*Ads will usually show at the bottom of your blog.
However, depending on the template, it may be shown somewhere else other than at the bottom.
Q. Can I create and manage more than one blog with one ID?
A.No, one ID can only create and manage one blog.
Q. Can I reuse my ID even if I cancel the ID account already?
A.No, you will not be able to reuse the ID that you cancelled.
Q. Can many people manage one blog at the same time?
A.Yes, but keep in mind since you are sharing a blog with many people, your information has a higher risk of getting stolen. In this case, FC2 is not responsible for anything.
Q. What is the URL format?
A.URL format is: http://( User ID).blog(server number).fc2.com/

About Your Settings

Q. Can I change my ID (account)?
A.No, you can't change your ID. If you want to change your ID, you will need to cancel your account then register again.
Q. Can I change my blog URL?
A. No, you can't change your blog URL. At least not directly. What you can do is to register a new ID (FC2ID), so you can use your new blog URL. And you can make a copy or backup of your old blog to import it to your new blog.
Q. How do I change my e-mail address?
A.Make sure you are logged into your FC2ID. Click on "Edit ID" then click on "Change E-mail Address".
*If your blog hasn't merged with FC2ID, you can go to the user management page and go to "Settings" then "User Info Settings" to change your e-mail address.

Signing Up and Deleting Your Blog

Q. Why I didn't receive my verification e-mail?
A.Please follow the steps below to resolve this issue:
*Check your e-mail application's spam or junk folder or filter.
*Check that you're trying to log in from the correct e-mail address.
*Please note that some e-mails may be blocked by your internet service provider.
*If you're still having trouble after the above steps, please contact us.
Q. I entered a wrong e-mail when I signed up.
A. Don't worry. Just enter you correct e-mail again, then you will receive an e-mail from us shortly.
Q. I'd like to cancel/delete my FC2 Blog account.
We're sorry to hear you are leaving FC2 Blog. To cancel or delete your blog service, log into FC2ID. Once you are logged in, find FC2 Blog in your service list and click on the "X" icon.
*Once deleted, your entries, comments, trackbacks, and images will be removed, and can no longer be restored.
*For users who have multiple blog accounts, please log out of all blog accounts from FC2 Blog then delete or cancel your blog service.
Q. Why do I keep receiving notification e-mails from FC2 after I deleted my blog?
A. Please check if you are using the same e-mail with other FC2 services. To stop receiving notification e-mails from FC2, please go to here.
Q. I accidentally deleted my blog, what will happen to all my information?
A. Once it's been deleted, your information will be permanently removed from our system. To prevent this from happening again, we recommend that you backup your blog periodically.

Log In and Manage Page

Log in, Cookies, Password, User management page, Session...etc

Q. I can't log into my account.
A. If you have problems logging in:
*Make sure that you are logging in with the correct password and username. If necessary, use the Forgot your password? on the homepage to request your password to be send to your mail box.
*Check your computer settings for the Internet. Please see "Computer settings for Internet" for how to adjust your browser settings.
*Users who have multiple blog accounts (with different ID) may experience problems when managing their blogs. To prevent this, always make sure to logout of each account when you have finished using it.
Q. Why did my blog get blocked?
A. Your blog content may violate our "Terms of use".
Q. No matter what I do, I just can't log in.
A . Please make sure SSL2.0, SSL3.0, and TLS1.0 are checked in your internet options.
Please see "Computer settings for Internet" for how to adjust browser settings.

*If your computer is firewall protected, you might not be able to log in because of it. Try to turn off your firewall and try again.
Q. I forgot my password.
A. No worries, you can go to here to request your password through e-mail.
Q. I changed my e-mail and I can't receive e-mail for my password.
A. If you don't have access to your old e-mail account, please send us an e-mail with the following:
Your old e-mail address and your blog URL.
Q. When I clicked on "User Page" on my blog, it took me to my management page, why is this?
A. This is because your cookies remember you are the blog owner. If other users click it, it will require them to enter ID and password. You can change this by disabling cookies.
*If you are sharing your computer with others, you may want to be cautious with your cookie settings.
Q. My browser shows "Session has ended." And the entry that I was working on is gone. What happened?
A. For internet safety reasons, and to reduce server overruns, we have shortened the session time. It will automatically log out, if you leave your browser on for a long time. We recommend you to keep a copy of your entry on a text editor like microsoft word or notepad.

Editing and Viewing Your Blog

Q. I want to know how to write an entry and how to operate my blog.

Q. How do I change my entry display order?
A. Click "Settings" then click "Blog Settings" then change the entry order under "Entry Settings".
Q. No matter what I do, I just can't log in.
A . Please make sure SSL2.0, SSL3.0, and TLS1.0 are checked in your internet options.
Please see "Computer settings for Internet" for how to adjust browser settings.

*If your computer is firewall protected, you might not be able to log in because of it. Try turning off your firewall and try again.
Q. How do I use the subsection?
A. It's easy, just write part of your entry in the subsection. The subsection will turn into a link on your blog after you post your entry.
Q. How do I add links in my entry?
A. You will see an "URL" icon listed in your editing tools. Copy and paste the link into the address field.
Q. How do I set ping?
A. To set your ping, please the following steps:
*Make sure you are in the management page.
*Click on "Settings".
*Click on "Blog Settings".
*Click on "Ping Settings".
*Enter ping addresses in the field. (Maximum: 1000 characters.)

Q. I live overseas, and I want to know how to post my entry with a different time zone?
A. Click on "Settings" then click on "User Info Settings". You can change your time zone to where you want it to be.
Q. I want to change my entry post date.
A. You will see a "Date/Time" section either you are writing a new entry or editing older entry. Just change the date/time to whenever you want it to be.
Q. I don't want to be on the FC2 listing.
A. When you are writing a new entery, make sure you uncheck "Add your entry to our listing" checkbox under FC2 Listing.
Q. Why is my new entry not listed in the latest entries section or rankings section?
A. Any adult topics and improper entries will not be listed in the rankings.
The latest entries section and ranking section updates itself every 180 seconds.
For example: The maximum entry number that can be listed in the ranking is 200 entries. However, there were 210 entries posted within the 180 seconds time frame. The extra 10 entries will not be listed in the rankings.
*If you set your entry to private, it will not be listed as well.
Q. I am having trouble seeing my entry with WYSIWYG tool.
A. The WYSIWYG tool will keep reading your entry as you type, therefore sometimes may appear slower.
Q. How do I set an entry at the top of my entry list?
A. To do that, you can set the entry date to a future date. This way the entry will keep staying on the top of your entry list and on your blog! But make sure your entry settings is set as sort by "Newest".
Q. How many categories can I have?
A. There is no limit! You can have as many as you want!!
Q. Why can't I read my blog friend's "friends only" entry?
A. Make sure you turn on your visitor history feature in your visit history setting. If you still can't see it with your visitor history feature on, please check if you enable your cookies.
Q. How do I set a password for an entry?
A. When you are writing a new entry, please follow the steps below:
*Make sure you check "Friends only" checkbox.
*Click on "Password Setting".
*Enter a password in "Set a entry password" section.
*Click on "Update" after you enter a password.

Set a password for past entry, please follow steps below:
*Go to "Entries" from the menu list on the left.
*Select an entry you want to change.
*Go to "Change Settings" below, and select "Restrict".
*Click on "Apply".

Profile, User information, layout...etc

Q. Can I change my blog title, blog description, and my profile?
A. Yes, you can. Please go to "User Info Setting" under settings to make changes.
Q. Why do my blog templates mess up all of the sudden? The text is also showing different font sizes?
A. Don't worry, this happens sometimes when you uploaded an image that is too big for your template. In this case, you will need to resize your image and upload it again or you can choose a new template that will fit a larger image. To resize your image, you can also use FC2 resize tool. It is located at tool box section in the menu list.
Text is showing different font sizes happens maybe because there are incorrect HTML codes in the template. Most common errors are the following:
*Forgot to close the bracket for <span>~</span> or there are errors between the span tag.
*Forgot to close the bracket for<div>~</div> or there are errors between the div tag.
*Invalid plugin's HTML tag.
*Incorrectly insert affiliate ads tag.
If your text changed color or size because of above errors, please retype or restore those text then reset the color and size again.
If your plugin disappears, please paste your plugin's HTML tag again.
Q. Why is my blog showing a blank page?
A. Don't worry, it happens sometimes after you edited or added your plugin tag or HTML. If it happens, please try go back to before you edited and add your plugin tag or HTML again.

Template, Download, Custom design...etc

Q. How do I change templates?
A. To change templates, go to "Templates" in the menu list to download a new template. Once you add a new one, select the new template then click on "Apply".
Q. What are user templates?
A. User templates are templates that are designed by FC2 users; not FC2.
Users can upload their own templates and share with other users.
*If you have any question about the user template that you are using, please contact the author directly.
Q. What are user plugins?
A. User plugins are plugins that are designed by FC2 users; not FC2.
Users can upload their own plugins and share with other users.
*If you have any question about the user plugin that you are using, please contact the author directly.
Q. Can I customize the template that I am using right now?
A. Of course, you can.
*Keep in mind that customizing a template is something users can do freely; however FC2 doesn't support any trouble incurred or provide a guide for customizing templates.
Q. Why have some of my plugins disappeared after I edited my template?
A. If your template is not properly displayed, you may need to reacquire it.

Q. My browser is showing an error message "Error:Unable to read the template file".
A. This may be caused by your browser's Cache record. Please add "?publish" at the end of your URL (For example: http://test.blog1.fc2.com/?publish ) and delete your Cache record.Then, try refresh your browser.
If it is still the same, please get the template again.
Q. I didn't receive a notification e-mail when someone left a comment/trackback and friend request.
A. Make sure that FC2 is in your safe list, otherwise, it may be in your junk mail folder.

Comment, Cookies, User Views, Spam entry, Private mode...etc

Q. Why does my name and blog URL show when I leave a comment?
A. This is because your cookies are enabled, so it saved your record. You can disable cookies to remove the record.
Q. I set comment approval to be required on my blog, but when I left a comment to my blog it posted right away.
A. If you are logged in, it will not ask your approval when you leave a comment on your blog.
Q. Why is there a set of letters and numbers next to the name of the person who left a comment to me?
A. This is called "Trip". It's a special ID for the people who leave commentsu.
If you don't want "Trip" to display, please delete the <%comment_trip> tag in your HTML.
Q. How do I return a comment?
A. You can comment back by leaving a comment on your blog.
Q. Where do I confirm the "Author read only" comment?
A. Go to "Notifications" in the menu list. You should see the new notifications.
To view the comment, please go to "Comments".
Q. Why can't I use trackback?
A. Make sure your related link is set to "No". To change the setting, please go to "Trackback Settings".
Q. How to prevent spam comment and trackback?
A. Please go to here for more details.
Q. How do I stop someone from viewing my blog?
A. You can put the user's IP into your "Prohibit IP/Host" by going to "Restriction Settings".
Q. How do I set a password for my blog?
A. Go to "Access Settings", change your "Privacy Settings" to "Private" and enter a password into "Set a blog password" field.
Q. I set my blog to private mode, but the confirm page didn't appear.
A. Once you have confirmed your password the first time, it will save in your computer, therefore, it won't ask you the next time.
To clear the record, please add "?logout" at the end of your URL(For example: http://test.blog1.fc2.com/?publish ).
If you are logged in, you don't need a password to access your blog. To check if you set your blog to private successfully, please log out first.

Image, File, Upload, Horizontal arrangement, Can't change image...etc

Q. I can't upload images and files.
A. Make sure your total file size for upload is not over 500KB.
File format must be: jpg, gif, png, mid, swf, ico, mp3, html, txt, css, js, and rdf.
Q. How do I resize my image?
A. FC2 provides our users a nice feature "FC2 Resize" for users to easily resize their images. Or you can create thumbnail images when you upload images.
Q. Why doesn't an image show beside FC2 blog?
A. We prevent users from using FC2 blog as a space to solely store images and we try to reduce server spaces, so you will not see images beside FC2 blog.
*Only when using banner.jpg, banner.png, and banner.gif formats to upload can URL images be called upon.
Q. Can I post a banner that is designed by me?
A. You can post your banner with bannger.jpg, banner.gif, and banner.png formats.
Other formats will not show, this is to reduce server spaces.
Q. How do I line up my images horizontally?
A. Please delete the tage <br clear="all"> between images.
Q. How do I upload my profile image?
A. After you are logged into FC2 blog, go to "edit my profile" to upload your image.
*Make sure the total file size for the upload does not exceed 500KB.
Q. Why doesn't my image update after I re-upload?
A. It may be because your browser saved a record of the image. Users who are using InterentExplorer, please press "F5" to refresh the browser, or try to delete your cookies if you are not using Internet Explorer.
Q . How to align images horizontally?
A.Please delete the <br clear="all" /> tag at the end of image's HTML.
Q . What does <br clear="all" /> mean?
A.<br clear="all" /> creates a line break. Therefore, if you want your images to align horizontally, you should delete <br clear="all" /> from your image's HTML.

Blog plugins, Free area, Blog pet, Customize...etc

Q. What is a blog plugin?
A. Anything that is set on both sides of your blog such as chat tool, weather forecast, entries list, and categories.
Q. How do I add a free area on my blog?
A. Please go to "Add FC2 plugins" under plugins. Once you are there find "Free Area" and click "Add".
Paste your plugin script inside the "Change Free Area Content" field then Click on "Add".
Q. What is Blog ID for blog pet?
A. It is "0".
Q. Where is XML-RPC API for blog pet?
A. You can find it here.
Q. What is the Post ID for blog pet?
A. It is your login user e-mail address if you are a FC2ID user.

Q. Can I use Google sitemap?
A. Yes, just add "sitemaps.xml" after your blog URL then it will display your blog sitemap. For example: http://fc2support.blog333.fc2.com/sitemaps.xml
Q. How much space can I use in FC2 blog?
A. There is no limit for your text files, however there is a 1GB space limit for images and other files.
The maximum upload size is 500KB for each individula item and a 250KB limit on the adult topic blog.

Q. Any rules or prohibitions?
A. Yes. You can't post other person's image, real name, or address without the person's consent or post any images that make other users feel uncomfortable.
Please read our Terms of Use to prevent any possible violation, if you violate the FC2 Terms of Use, we will permanently remove your account from FC2 and, in the case of serious violations, we will report you to law enforecement.
Q. I can't find my blog when I search in FC2 Blog.
A. FC2 search feature is still in the testing stage therefore it may not have the results you want.
Q. I can't find my blog in Yahoo! and Google's search engines.
A. We are sorry it is up to Yahoo! and Google's search engines' settings not FC2.
Q. What is RSS?
A. RSS is a family of Web feed formats used to publish frequently updated content. By using RSS you can help each user's blog getting viewed by more people. There will be an update notification when you set your blog as public mode. The benefit of RSS is the aggregation of content from multiple Web sources in one place. RSS content can be read using software called an "RSS reader".
Q. What is my RSS URL?
A. please add "/?xml" after your blog URL. For example: http://staff.blog1.fc2.com/?xml
Q. How do I delete repeated calendars showing on my blog?
A. Please try to delete the <!--calendar-->~<!--/calendar--> tag in the template that you are using.
Or try to use a new template.
